Why do so many people continue to buy bottled water?
In France, tap water is officially drinkable and regulated. Yet, a large portion of households continues to consume bottled water. This is often explained by the search for a more neutral taste, fear of chlorine or undesirable residues, or simply habit. Mineral or spring water benefits from a more "pure" image, but in reality, it is not always better for health — and it especially costs much more in the long run.
The true cost of bottled water
Buying bottled water multiplies the price of water by more than 100. One liter of tap water costs about €0.003, compared to €0.30 to €1 for a bottle. On a household scale, this represents several hundred euros per year. Not to mention storage, transport, the weight to carry each week… and especially the plastic waste generated. Even when recycled, bottles have a real environmental impact.
Filtering tap water: a sustainable and economical alternative
Filtering water at home allows you to get rid of the taste of chlorine, certain traces of pesticides, pharmaceutical residues, and even heavy metals, while keeping essential minerals. It is also a concrete gesture for the environment: no more need to buy, store, or throw away plastic bottles. With a gravity filtration system, like a fountain equipped with a triple-action cartridge, the water is naturally purified, without chemicals or electricity.
And it is especially very cost-effective. A €30 cartridge lasts about 6 months, or 500 liters of filtered water. This amounts to about €0.06 per liter, which is significantly cheaper than any bottled water.
We offer eco-friendly and economical filter cartridges, designed to provide excellent filtration quality while respecting the environment. Their effectiveness remains constant from the first to the last liter, without loss of performance.
What if your fountain was made of terracotta?
Beyond water quality, the choice of material also matters. Our terracotta filter fountains are made with natural materials, without plastic or chemicals. They have the unique feature of naturally cooling the water and offer a handcrafted and warm appearance. It is a solution that is as beautiful as it is ecological, ideal for reducing your impact while gaining comfort in daily life.
Our personal opinion
We completely understand those who prefer bottled water, especially for taste or precaution. But today, with reliable, natural, and affordable filtration solutions, it becomes difficult to justify all this plastic and expense. A good filter fountain changes daily life: the water is better, always available, and you have peace of mind. And that is true comfort.
Conclusion
Between buying bottled water and filtering tap water, the balance clearly tips in favor of the latter option. Less plastic, more savings, healthy water, and a concrete gesture for the planet. You just need to choose a good filtration system suited to your needs to never have to carry packs of water again.
